I mowed the lawn near our pond. While mowing, I realized that the treefrogs around the pond were croaking. Loudly. They stopped croaking when I turned the mower off. They started up again when I started the mower. Every time.
Competitive little buggers!
What’s astonishing to me is that I could hear them over the sound of a gas mower. Well, that and the fact that they thought a lawnmower was romantic competition.
