Scraping the bottom of the barrel

…in so many senses of the word.

Did you know that BC Ferries charges the Ambulance Service as much as $2000 if waiting for an ambulance makes the ferry 5 minutes late? Neither did I. Oh, and the management of the decision to hold a ferry is being shifted offsite, adding to the layer of complexity.

It all makes so much sense! Let’s reduce the costs of a provincially owned corporation by sticking it to a critical provincial service.

I note that this policy is being reconsidered: CEO Mike Corrigan thinks maybe it would be better to set the time limit at 10 minutes. I’m sure everyone who lives on an island and requires ferry service to get to a hospital will be delighted by this largesse.
