Back to tulips for a bit.
Yesterday I spent an hour and a half in a friend’s yard, taking pictures of tulips. I think it was worth it. More pictures will follow over the next days!
Crocus focus
More of those unfocused crocus pictures. Continue reading “Crocus focus”
Pink and gold
We found the most amazing poppies walking today.
The bug is not a bee or wasp, but a hoverfly (family Syrphidae); beyond that identification I won’t venture. They feed on nectar and pollen. And you can see the wee bits of pollen dust all over the petal behind it.
Autumn leaves, in variation
It’s pouring rain today, so a bit of colour to cheer myself up. These were taken a month or so ago; there’s not near as much colour around at the moment., even without the rain.
Evening hydrangea
A couple of years ago a friend gave us a hydrangea. This year it bloomed for the first time—and what a delight it has turned out to be!
Arbutus detail
Another photo of the arbutus we lost a couple of weeks ago. I was quite taken by the colours in this.
